Wedding photography photo critique
Julie
thank you for your submission. As a wedding photographer I will be probably a bit more subjective as this is my bread and butter. Wedding photography critique will be the easiest for me.
Bride in window light
Content 5 out of 10
A better than average portrait of the bride. A good idea to shoot from above but this is not the best expression for her. You might want to have her looking at you in this position, get you a smile or something.
Composition 7 out of 10
Good angle shooting from above, I would have had her on the left hand side and follow the rule of thirds. Well balanced image
Image quality 6 out of 10
Nice and well exposed, good vignetting, lack of enthusiasm, a bit cold for my taste.
Final TRS mark 6 out of 10
Overall a better than average photo I have seen worse, I have seen better. You need a bit of director skills and a bit more editing to make this better will help
Bride last thoughts
Content 6.5 out of 10
I can’t really judge content for weddings as a I do this very often. To me it is a good subject…standard for me but I see many other photographers not doing this.
Composition 5 out of 10
well balanced subject in the image, but I cannot see any other intentions of framing and composing.
Image quality 4 out of 10
Image dark, looks average, underexposed, confusing…either go to extremes in this sample…perfect silhouette or overexpose the window and have the bride better exposed. I am not sure though as sometimes i do many variations myself. I cannot see in this image the wow factor…
Final TRS mark 5+ out of 10
despite the good intention, the message is lost in the other issues
The wedding ring
Content 7 out of 10
standard shot, good image, have seen much worse, but much better. Ring with the vail on a mirror is probably a better choice. Elements are related, they speak to each other
Composition 8 out of 10
Rule of thirds vertical and horizontal, for ring and vail. A very good composition. You might want to consider getting a closer macro shot so you can have the ring bigger in the image. What kens did you use?
Image quality 5 out of 10
a bit overexposed for my taste, this is about the ring, and you lost details. It defies the purpose, I thing great details of the ring are lost by the BW approach.
Final TRS mark 6.6 out of 10
Overall a good wedding picture
