questions and answers – high resolution images and value for clients
Hi Christian
Thankyou for your ongoing support and guidance for photographers like me, through your Academy of Photography website and your YouTube channel, it’s very much appreciated.
I am a portrait and glamour photographer and I’m trying to expand the business to include wedding photography. I have watched your YouTube videos about wedding photography and I’m inspired to take on weddings….firstly on a small scale, to ‘find my feet’, and see if wedding photography is for me. I think it is, but only time will tell.
One of the first things I will need is a wedding contract. To this end, I recently downloaded a copy of your ‘Wedding Photography Services Contract’ and I’ve noticed in your ‘Tudor Photography Package’ section, you offer ‘all images on a disk as JPEG format in high resolution’.
My questions relate to this part of your package.
- How do you put a value on these high res files, in terms of $$ per image or collectively as a ‘bundle’ of X number of images = $$.
- Are these images sized in pixels on the long side or in photo print size, ie. 6 x 4, 10 x 8, etc.
- If you supply the clients with high resolution files, aren’t you giving up the chance to sell them prints or albums, because they can take these images to a print lab or create their own wedding album via a host of online album/book sites?
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
regards
