Soft light window portraits
bridal posing guide
On of the most important moments does should never be missed is an “one on one” between the photographer and the bride, once she is ready. I always get my brides to go next to a window to take advantage of the natural soft diffused light to get some nice portraits. I try to get her to stand up, facing me, facing the window, and other ways, looking at me , looking through the window, turn her back on me or on the window looking at me and looking in all directions possible. I basically try every position in relation to the light source and get a full body portrait and also a close up with the blurry background.
Remember, this is “the main bridal portrait” opportunity. This is the best bridal portrait you will get during the day, where you can focus on the quality of the light and the pose. You will probably never have this moment withe her only, without pressure, or other people getting in the way, or her attention distracted by other things. Make sure you use it and take as many shots in the 5 minutes you have available. If you can more then one outstanding portrait you can give her a variety of colour and various filter effects.
