Bride close up portrait on the bed
wedding photography poses for the bride
This pose has a great potential for an outstanding portrait. I have covered a close up portrait for the bride in a different article, however this idea is a separate pose and approach altogether. You have to use a prime lens if possible, to get a nice depth of field. I have discovered that the wider the aperture, the smoother the light. I usually ask the bride to lay down on the bed on her belly, holding her face with her hands like in the images below. This is a very good idea to masks also double chins and also it is a very flattering angle for anyone generally speaking. I repeat this pose with everyone wanting to lay down, regardless the type of shoot I am doing. Very good results, very happy.
Just sit down on the floor at her eye level and try to have the window behind, you so you do not shoot against the light.
A very interesting variation on the bride position is the bride laying on her back like in the image below. This angle is also flattering for all women and you cannot go wrong with it.
This is a pose where a prime lens like 50mm 1.2 or 85 mm 1.2 will make all the difference.
