Let’s face it…if you are a professional wedding photographer you will photograph not only beautiful gorgeous brides but also normal looking ones. No matter how the bride looks like, there are some angles that are flattering for anyone and once the bride sees them on the back of your LCD screen, she will relax assured that you are doing a good job and you are making her look good. Many people have never been photographed and they become nervous and intimidate by your big gear, and you need to overcome this issue. The best way is to throw jokes at them, and also sow them they are in good hands and they will look good at the end of the day.
Regardless how the bride looks like I always try to shoot few portraits from a higher level, form a balcony, standing up on a bench while she is sitting down and looks up to me over her shoulder. I can promise you everyone looks good like that
The easiest and best idea is to stand up on a bench and shoot down at the bride
